Newsletter – Term 3 Week 10

Dear Parents and Carers,
Country Gold

Last week a group of Grade 5 and 6 students participated in a shortened Country Gold Carnival. It was pleasing to hear about the sportsmanship and teamwork displayed by our students in netball, soccer, hockey and AFL.

Maths Relay

On Sunday two teams competed in the State Maths Relay. Both teams represented our school with pride and Mrs Ryan and Miss Doran were proud of their efforts. Well done to Team A- Morgan, Olivia D, Scarlet and Seth and Team B- Arthur, Cooper, Sam and Victor.

External Review

Thank you to the families, students and staff that recently supported our External School Review process.

The External School Review occurs every four years and gives schools an opportunity to reflect on what is working well and areas for future focus. Thank you to the members of the School Association and wider Perth Primary School Community for your input into the review process. The recommendations will shape our work over the next four years. There were many areas of strength recognised and we consider now how we celebrate and build on our successes.

Grade 6 Leavers’ Tops

You will notice our Grade 6 students looking smart in their Leavers’ polo tops. Each year students have a say in the selection of the design of their tops. It is perfect timing as they head into their final term of Grade 6.

Before School Care

In Term 4 we are changing the way you book Before School Care, so that we can ensure duty of care for students. Parents will need to pre-book sessions via Schoolzine. We will be unable to take student walk-ins on a daily basis. There will be a limited number of spaces available each day and parents will be invoiced for bookings whether or not the child attends the booked session.

All families will receive a letter advising how to book via Schoolzine and if you do not receive one, please let us know.

Staffing Changes

The end of a term brings some change to staff and this term we farewell our Social Worker Cindy Calvert who has been at our school for 15 months. Thank you Cindy, for the way you have supported our students over this time. We welcome Ashlee Robbins as our social worker in Term 4. Ashlee will have an opportunity to meet with Cindy over the holidays.

Thank you to Mrs Tarsha Hockley for her organisation of the canteen during Term 3. Mrs Maher has been on leave and will be returning in Term 4.

Happy Holidays

We wish all students and families a happy holiday. We look forward to seeing you all back at school on Monday 17 October. Term 4 is an exciting and busy term for our students, but learning remains our number one priority. A reminder that as we are a Sun Safe School and students will be required to wear their school hat at the start of Term 4. Hats can be purchased from the office or via Qkr for $5.00 each.
