Last Day Term 3

From the Principal…..

Welcome to Term 3! Firstly, I just want to say how excited I am to be joining Perth Primary School as Principal for the remainder of the year. I had heard wonderful things about the school before I applied for the position and since being successful, I have been inundated with messages about what great kids, great staff and a wonderful community I am joining!

My official start date is Wednesday 28th July (Week 2), this allows me time to tidy up loose ends in my position at Punchbowl and prepare for the move to Perth. I am immensely thankful to the entire leadership and office staff who have stepped up this week in my absence. A special thankyou to Mrs Adams, who has spent considerable time over her holidays making sure that we have a smooth start to the term.

I very much look forward to meeting the entire school community, I have set myself the aspirational goal of learning all the students names by the end of term! Wish me luck and I look forward to meeting you all in person over the coming weeks.

Milo for 5/6 Camp

Please leave your name at the office if you are able to assist with this important fundraiser. Money raised by selling warm Milo to students this term and next goes towards reducing the cost of our camp for all families.

Your support either as a volunteer and in supporting the Milo fundraiser is much appreciated.

Covid 19 Update

Spotlight on PPS Students

Spotlight on PPS Students is a new section in our newsletter which will share and celebrate the many skills, qualities and achievements of our students. This section relies on contributions from parents. Parents are invited to share details about your child’s achievements. Please send full details, including a photo to: perth.primary@education.tas.gov.au

Student snapshots will be shared in order of receipt. Achievements in any domain are certainly worthy of sharing. These might include: volunteering/community contributions/achievements in Art, Music, Sports and character qualities such as perseverance and assisting others.

Hockey Gala Day

On Friday 23rd July Miss Doran and five Grade 5/6 students travelled to the St Leonards Hockey ground for a Hockey Gala day with 180 students from the Northern Midlands area participating. We were lucky to share the day with Longford Primary School. Miss Doran was impressed with the focus of Nixon, Chase, Angus, Morgan and Sam. Although it was drizzly everyone participated to the best of their ability and represented Perth Primary with pride.

Green and Gold Day

Friday 30th July will be Green and Gold Day. Please dress in green and gold to support our Australian Olympic team. (Please note this is not a fundraising event).
