From the Principal…..
What a difference a day makes in these very challenging times! Many aspects of our community are changing at a rapid pace, adding further to the sense of turbulence for children and for us all. Our actions, values and words during these times will play a very important role in helping children to understand and manage through this major difficulty. Helping them deal with uncertainty and remain resilient and calm are our most important steps in these very difficult times.
Schools Remain Open At This Time
At this time, schools in Tasmania will remain open to support the learning and wellbeing of students. All medical advice and health protocols are being followed in relation to research about Covid 19 and the way it spreads. A letter from the Secretary, Tim Bullard, is included with this edition. The Secretary spoke with principals yesterday, acknowledging the excellent work at school sites to help manage Covid 19 with protective measures in place to ensure student safety. Social distancing at school sites is a particular challenge and means that parents are now able to keep children at home if they choose.
Children who do not attend school should be supervised by parents and should be at home to ensure their safety and the safety of all others in the community. Please visit the DoE website for ‘Learning at home’ information and resources or follow the link below:
https://www.education.tas.gov.au/parents-carers/learning-at-home/
Learning at Home opportunities will be provided to support parents so that children can continue with their learning. Parents will be responsible for supervising their children’s learning while they are not at school. Please keep connected with our Facebook page for regular up-to date information and learning support materials.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of our PPS community for their support as we work together for the best interests of our school community in keeping everyone healthy and safe. Thank you again for your trust and support. Ongoing communication is very important.
Stay safe everyone!
