From the Principal…..

The final newsletter of the year is always one of mixed emotions. We say farewell to those leaving us to move to new adventures and new places and we ready ourselves to welcome new families and students to our wonderful school community in the new year. We wish all of our families a special holiday filled with joy, rest and relaxation. Wishing everyone the compliments of the season and a wonderful time with family and friends. Happy holidays to all.

Reports and Class Groups Announced

On Friday last week reports were sent home with students. The end-of-year reports were written by class teachers and outline student progress against the A-E curriculum requirements in English, Maths, Science and HASS. Ratings were also given for PE, Music and overall work habits, together with a general comment. Teachers spend many, many hours completing reports and we certainly value your feedback.

Also on Friday, class placement for next year was released. Much time and thought goes into this process with many conversations and factors considered. The process used guarantees that all children are placed with at least one student identified as a preferred ‘learning partner’. Please talk with your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

Farewells and Welcomes - Staff

Several staff members are leaving us as they move onto new roles. Mrs Chandler will be taking up a new role as Acting AST at Norwood Primary School. Congratulations! We will miss you.

Mrs Lloyd is retiring after a long and distinguished career with the DoE. Mrs Lloyd has been with us for 3 years but has made her mark at PPS with her love of writing and all things literacy. Best wishes for a wonderful retirement and a happy and healthy time with your family and friends.

Mrs Atkins is taking some extended long service leave. She will spend some time with her family and enjoying her garden.

Our Chaplain, Chris, is finishing his time with us and will move onto another role. Thank you for your time with us.

Welcome to Mrs Woods who will be joining our team and teaching on Prep A. Mrs Woods comes to us from Riverside Primary School.

Welcome also to Miss Dargaville, also teaching on Prep. Miss Dargaville has been teaching in various locations and most recently at Mowbray.

Farewells – Students

We farewell Amelia, Clay, Sophia, Juliana, Levi, Archer, Kayson, Flynn, Lalita and their families and wish them well in their new schools.

Wishing all PPS families and community members a wonderful, safe and festive time during the holiday period. Looking forward to seeing everyone back for a bright start to 2020 – a year filled with learning, playing and getting along well together.

Happy Christmas Everyone!
