Final Assembly 10:00am. All welcome! End of Term 4 (students) |
Principal’s Report
Our final newsletter for 2018 is an opportunity to celebrate a wonderful year of learning and to wish all members of the Perth Primary School community the compliments of the season. Christmas is a time for celebrating new beginnings and family ties, regardless of personal beliefs, hence the focus on gratitude and setting resolutions. We take this opportunity to thank all school families for their support and wish everyone a safe and happy summer with family and friends.
At Thursday’s final assembly we will be saying farewell to a number of staff members and to some school families who will be finishing their time at Perth Primary. We wish all leaving members of our school community all the best for a happy and successful future. Parents and family members are warmly welcome to join us for these informal end-of-year events.
The long summer break is a special time to enjoy time with friends and being involved in favourite activities. As many children will have additional time to spend on devices the following advice for parents about Cyber Safety is reprinted for your information.
Cyber Safety Information reprint
Earlier in the year a representative from the Australian Federal Police led an information session for parents and interested family members about cyber safety. We hope that this session was helpful in providing families with tips and tools for helping to keep children safe with their online activities as we know that almost every child in our school community has access to a device of some kind which is connected to the internet. Children are far more ICT savvy than many adults, and this means we need this support to help keep children safe. This knowledge is critical for parents so that sensible and safe boundaries can be set at home to ensure children understand and stick to safe ICT practices. Further information can be found at:

Final Staffing Information
We are pleased to welcome Mr Eeles who will join us in Term 1 during Mr Johnson’s leave. Mr Eeles will teach STEM and PE across the school. Congratulations to Miss Green who has been appointed to East Tamar Primary School, and will be teaching a foundation class next year. Best wishes for your move to your new school.
Choir Performance
On Saturday evening our choir performed at the Perth Community Carols, bringing Christmas cheer and building connections with our local community. Many thanks to Miss Dick who has worked with the choir this year and to Mrs Clements who also accompanied the choir on the evening.
We are also most grateful to the Perth Baptist Church for their ongoing support of our school community. The church supports our school in many ways. Their volunteers work with students in a range of different ways, working in the garden particularly during the weekend and over the summer break. Members of the church also provides financial support for high-value program across the school. Thank you so much for your ongoing support!
